How to make Earrings with Miyuki Tila and Faceted Beads
These earrings are easy to make yourself! This pattern is actually a continuation of the Bohemian Earrings with Miyuki Beads. By following the drawings, you can get started right away! There are different colors of Miyuki Tila beads and faceted beads available in the webshop, so you can make your own fun color combination.
Step 1: Start by cutting about 30cm of C-lon wire and threading it through the eye of the needle. knot the C-lon thread to the connector and thread a Miyuki Delica.
Step 2: Then pass under the connector and back through the top of the bead.
Step 3: Thread a new Miyuki Delica, go under the connector again, and insert the needle through the top of the bead again. Repeat as shown in the drawing of step 4, until 22 Miyuki beads are attached. Knot this thread around the spacer and use some glue here for extra strength.
Step 5: Cut a new piece of C-lon thread of about 30cm and go through the 2nd Miyuki Delica from the first row. The end of the thread you knot around the thread from the first row. Now thread a Tila bead and skip 2 'bridges' as shown in the drawing. Go under the 3rd 'bridge' and thread a new Tila bead. Repeat until all Tila beads are attached. At the last Tila bead, go under the last bridge (you can also choose to go through the Miyuki bead of the first row, go around the spacer and go back through the same bead).
Step 6: Now thread 3 Miyuki Delicas of a different color and go through the top hole of the Tila Bead. Now thread 2 Miyuki Delicas and insert your needle through the next Tila bead. Repeat until you come out of the last Tila bead and thread 3 Delicas.
Step 7: Go back through the Delica from the first row, then go under the spacer.
Step 8: Now insert the needle through the 3 Miyuki Delicas and thread 4 new ones. Insert the needle through the 2 Delicas between the Tila Beads and thread 4 new beads again. Again, repeat until you reach the end. Go through the 3 Miyuki Delica beads and twist around the spacer.
Now you can choose to knot this again or continue with this thread.
Step 9: If you are using the same thread, go back through the first 5 Miyuki beads again (now you will end up in the middle of the Tila Bead if all goes well). Then thread a faceted bead and a Miyuki Delica. Go back through the facet bead and continue through the next 6 Miyuki beads (again, you will end up in the middle of the Tila Bead if all goes well). Repeat until you have 7 faceted beads attached.
Step 10: Now go through the last Miyuki beads again and attach the thread to the connector.
Finally, we will attach the earring hook or stud. Start by attaching a Tila Bead and 2 Miyuki Delicas. Do this at the top and center of the spacer. Tie this securely (use a drop of glue for extra strength) and using a 4mm stainless steel jumpring you can attach the hook or stud.
