How to Make a Bracelet with Duo and Lava Beads
This unique bracelet is actually very easy to make yourself! With our assortment of lava beads and designer quality Duo beads, you can get started right away!
Start by cutting 1 meter of nylon thread. Thread 8 duo beads onto the nylon thread, make sure to always use the bottom hole. Also important is to make sure the same side of the bead is facing up. When you have strung 8 beads, you can put the nylon back through the 1st and 2nd bead. Now a flower shape is created. Now thread 1 lava bead and put the nylon through the 7th duo bead.
For extra strength thread the nylon through all duo beads again.
When you exit the 7th bead again, go through the top stringing hole of the 8th bead. Now take a new 'extra' duo bead and thread the nylon through the bottom hole of this bead. Then go through the top hole of the 1st bead.
Now thread a Miyuki seed bead and go through the top stringing hole of the 2nd bead. Repeat until you exit the 4th bead, so put a seed bead between each Duo bead. When you exit the 3rd bead, add another 'extra' duo bead (again go through the bottom stringing hole of this bead). Now add another seed bead between each duo bead.
When you exit the 8th duo bead, thread another seed bead and then go through the top stringing hole of the 1st bead. Now go through all the seed beads and duo beads, until you exit from bead number 4. Add another seed bead and again go through the top stringing hole of the 'extra' duo bead. Add another seed bead and now continue threading until you reach the other end of the nylon. Make a double knot and put some glue on this. Let this dry well. When the glue is dry, you can hide the knot in the top stringing hole of the adjacent duo bead.
Now we have finished the flower and we can start with the bracelet. Cut a half meter of nylon thread and put it through the top stringing hole of the 'extra' duo bead. Make sure you have 2 equal pieces of nylon thread and thread 1 miyuki seed bead on each side. after this you thread the threads in opposite directions through a lava bead. Now hold the threads together and thread 1 seed bead. Then do the same with a lava bead. Repeat this pattern until you have a total of 11 or 12 lava beads.
Now thread a crimp bead and an extension chain. Thread both threads back through the crimp bead and the last lava bead. Pull on the thread and Pinch the crimp bead. Cut off the remaining nylon thread.
Repeat this pattern and the finishing touch on the other side, but now use a lobster clasp instead of the extension chain.
Your bracelet is now ready to be worn!
