Step-by-step
Necklace
1. Cut two pieces of nylon wire or steel wire for two strands of raw labradorite beads. The length of the wires should be a little longer than the desired length of the beaded strands.
2. Cut three pieces of labradorite jasseron chain, Make sure all three pieces are the same length.
3. Thread the labradorite beads onto the two nylon/steel strands. Make sure both strands are about the same length. You can use bead caps or pinch beads to keep the beads from shifting.
4. Use pliers to attach a pinch bead or bead cap to both ends of each strand to keep the beads securely in place. Be sure to leave an eyelet at each end to attach to the carabiner.
5. Attach the two beaded strands to one end of the carabiner. Use jum rings on the end of the beaded strands to secure them securely. Use flat pliers on the rings to tightly close them.
6. Attach three pieces of labradorite jasseron chain to the other side of the carabiner. Make sure all three chains are securely attached. Check extra carefully that the jasseron chains hang equally long and symmetrically in relation to the beaded strands.
7. On the back of the jasseron chains and beaded strands, you can attach a clasp such as a chapter clasp.
Handy! No idea which clasp is best to use for your projects? In the video below there are some handy tips on choosing the right clasp!
Bracelet
1. Cut a piece of S-Lon wire two times longer than the desired length of your bracelet, plus extra for tying.
2. Thread a needle onto the thread, keeping in mind that your needle will fit through your beads.
3. Thread four beads onto the wire, followed by a spacer bead.
4. Repeat this pattern (four beads, one spacer bead) until you reach the desired length of your bracelet to fit the circumference of your wrist.
5. Use the needle to thread back through each spacer bead and the four corresponding beads.
6. Continue this pattern until you get back to the beginning of your bracelet.
7. Make sure the pattern is tight and secure by pulling any loose pieces of thread tight.
8. Make a firm knot at the end of the bracelet, use a drop of jewelry glue if necessary for extra strength.
9. Attach a lobster clasp to one side of the bracelet and a jumpring to the other side.
Handy! An image of the pattern for the bracelet is at the top of the inspiration set page!*
Earrings
1. Open a small jumpring ring with the flatbed pliers and attach the bohemian charm to the stud earring. Close this ring securely with the pliers so that it will not come off.
2. Cut two pieces of labradorite jasseron chain, each 6 cm long. Open a new jump ring and attach it to the bottom of the bohemian charm, then place one of the jasseron chains to this ring.
3. With another small jumpring, place the labradorite drop charm to the bottom of the jasseron chain.
4. For extra color, thread the red faceted beads onto staple pins. Cut off the excess from the staple pins, leaving about 1 cm. Using the roundnosed pliers, form small eyes on the top of the staple pins.
5. Attach the studs with faceted beads to the different links of the jasseron chain so that they hang nicely scattered.
6. Repeat this process for the second earring so that you have a pair.
Tips:
- Make sure all pinch beads and staple pins are secure to prevent the beads from shifting or becoming loose.
- Use a beading board or mat to place your beads on as you work so they don't roll away
With these steps, you will create cool and unique labradorite jewelry that will complete any outfit.
